Wonderful ceramic art by Elizabeth MacDonald, dating to the 1970s. MacDonald is a well known and listed artist, with credits that include the cover art for the book Handbuilding Ceramic Forms by Elsbeth S. Woody (1978).
Unique set of two handbuilt vases, created using the coil technique. Both pieces have an organic, sculptural quality, finished with a matte, earthy glazing that highlights the wonderful texture of the vessels.
The taller piece measures 4"x 4"x 10.25", the squat piece measures 11.25"x 10.5"x 6.5". Both are in excellent, original condition with the typical variations seen in handbuilt wares. The taller piece is incise signed E MacD at the low edge. Neither is dated.
