A Federal Style late 1800's Pine Single Drawer, Side or Worktable. Despite its heavy use it is a warm and sturdy, piece of furniture. The table legs are peg attached to the top.
Square and round nails co-exist on this piece showing a history of repairs, post-peg construction. It will add interest or uniqueness to any room. This table must have a lot of, "stories to tell". Indeed, there are a person's initials ("H W") carved lightly about 1" in size on the top back edge. Its 31" high and the square top is 22" x 22".
Of course, it is pine, and the top has numerous repairs, scratches, stains and discoloration.
The table is a perfect example, however, of how old, antique pine develops a warm honey-toned depth and color. It looks great with an Oriental Rug!
The drawer opens smoothly, the knob is likely not original, the brown knob is vintage, with a wood base and plaster finish. The drawer interior has small finishing nail holes, markings of age difference and ware patterns perhaps indicative that it was once compartmentalized.

Heavily used, numerous marks, stains and even small, (about 1") initials carved in small letters ("H W") on the rear edge. The drawer shows markings, nail holes and discoloration, perhaps, evidence indicating that the drawer was compartmentalized, as would be normal in a typical Worktable of this period. The legs are pegged to the top, solid and in good to very good condition, they may have been stained. Note: "L" Metal Brackets were added to reinforce each leg to the table base by a prior owner. Numerous repairs over the years....... include use of square and round nails, possibly additional pegging. The bottom of each leg shows signs of a few wormholes and light to mild wear. The top of the table is a "2 board" piece. The knob on the drawer is likely not original but is likely at least vintage and is a wood-based knob with an intricate brown plaster design. The tabletop is solid, not warped. less
