  • "Hi kate, Yes....I think 14-16 would work well and actually better than the 18" ones that I used in the photos.....the 18" ones look good in the photos but are actually too big in person. Its not a huge lamp. Also, a tapered shade is a much better way to go ( I just did not have one )........keep in mind the brass is tarnished....but I put in a new socket and new cord...so it is safe and ready for use. I also will throw in a vintage brass finial too so you have a choice on finals. Best, Tom Z."

  • "Oh thank you so much, Tom! So you think I could go to like 16" at the widest part on the shade? Is 14 or 15 definitely too small? Thinking of doing something tapered too :)"

  • "Hi Kate, There are actually two different shades in the photos in the listing......a white one (the first photo)......and a silver one(the last photo)....both are standard 18"Diameter by 10" High....and yes both are not for sale....I am a shade expert....you most likely can go an inch or two smaller on the diameter and make it work. The glass color is great...almost glows...the photos don't do it justice. Anyhow, Good Luck with your client. Best, Tom Z."

  • "I understand that the shade isn't included...just wanting to see how big of a shade I would need to have made for it so I can be sure it'll fit in the place where we'd like to use it for a client. Thanks!"

  • "Hi! I love this lamp... wondering how wide the shade is? Thanks, Kate"
