This exceptionally rare, original X-Large poster was created for Yves Klein's 1994 major retrospective exhibition Leap into the Void (Der Sprung ins Leere), which was simultaneously held at the Museum Ludwig in Cologne and the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen in Düsseldorf. The exhibition later traveled to London’s Hayward Gallery and Madrid’s Museum Reina Sofia. The striking design of the poster showcases Ant 130 from Klein’s iconic Anthropometries series, where he famously choreographed “living brushes” – nude women covered in blue paint who pressed themselves against canvas or paper. For these X-Large billboard posters, great care was taken to replicate Yves Klein’s signature International Klein Blue (IKB), the deep ultramarine hue he developed and patented.
