This is a Great Looking Original Antique - Circa Early 19th Century Cash & Document Box.
The Box is Completely Hand Made Out of Steel with Hand Painted Faux Wood Grain Painted Features. The Top Also Has Hand Painted Lettering with the Original Owners Name and Town. The 2 Rivet Attached Side Carry Handles are Made Out of Hand Wrought Iron. It did have a Locking Mechanism When Made but Note! That It Is Now Missing. I purchased this item in the Boston Region so it Most Likely is From The Town of Mansfield Massachusetts. The Painted Surfaces - Features are Age Weathered with Some Scratches and Chips from Many Years of Use and Exposure, Etc. but in my opinion that is what give it such a wonderful honest aged look.
Large Size - It Measures 4 3/4 inches Tall x 14 1/2 inches Long x 8 1/2 inches Wide.
