Goa, a former Portuguese colony on the western coast of India, has a rich tradition of combining European and Indian artistic styles. Casket features intricate inlay work where thin pieces of mother-of-pearl are embedded into the wooden surface. Rich, dark wood base with exquisite mother of pearl flowers and fauna covering the box. Casket is rectangular in shape with six compartments inside for storing small items. Casket rests on four round wooden feet. See less
