An elegant and extremely comfortable library chair of the Napoleon III period. The chair features a pull out ottoman that flips into place, arms that rotate outwards, and a mechanical reclining back. Legs are made of solid macassar and capped with beaded brass escutcheons on brass casters. Kept in found upholstery. French copyright stamps are present on the iron mechanism below with an unknown maker.
One of a few rare mechanical examples that is as elegant and suitable for contemporary tastes as it is comfortable and usable.
