A striking pair of monumental Art Deco wardrobes, crafted in a bold combination of Macassar ebony, walnut, and mahogany veneers, showcasing the luxurious materials and geometric elegance characteristic of the period. Each cabinet measures 75" tall, 55" wide, and 24" deep, offering substantial storage and a commanding presence.
The design features symmetrical opposing forms, making them ideal for flanking a room or as statement pieces in a grand interior. The rich wood grains are arranged in dynamic patterns, highlighting the craftsmanship and attention to detail. Note that the pair do align on the flat sides if you desire to use them as a large, 109.25" wide single unit.
Fitted with three shelves, four linen drawers, one hanging rod, hooks, a valet rod, and a sturdy, 24" deep pull out shelf on each unit.
On the reverse, each cabinet bears a stamp from the Iparművészeti Múzeum (Museum of Applied Arts) in Budapest, indicating that they were inspected and approved for export, a common practice for significant/notable pieces leaving Hungary during the mid-20th century.
Rarely seen in mirrored pairs, these cabinets offer the opportunity to use furniture as architecture—equal parts sculpture and storage.

Presentable and fully functional for display and use. The cabinets exhibit several areas of age-appropriate wear, including minor chips, veneer touch-ups, and one battery-sized indentation on a door panel that does not interfere with the overall veneer design. The finish has a warm, lived-in patina consistent with age and use, adding to their character without detracting from their striking visual impact. Finish retains a beautiful, lustrous sheen. Structurally sound with working locks and six included keys. Note that one cabinet's interior hanging rod has been replaced with a wood rod. less
