A late 18th century French Louis XVI style marquetry demilune commode made of mahogany with inlaid veneers of mahogany, walnut and exotic woods. Fine craftsmanshop with bookmatched veneers and herringbone marquetry. Three dovetailed drawers with cast bronze escutcheons and interiors lined in pale green silk fabric. Two curved cabinet doors with ring pulls (one ring replaced), each with an interior shelf. Working locks and two keys. Locks of the doors are replaced and the left one is upside down. Locks of the drawers are in working condition. Beautiful Rouge Royal marble top. Turned tapered legs with inlaid detail and brass sabots. Oak as a secondary wood. Minor veneer loss. A good sturdy cabinet with nice proportions. Perfect for use as a nightstand or side table. Circa 1780-1800
