This particular chair is one … Read more This iconic chaise longue, Pernilla 3, was designed by the renowned Swedish designer Bruno Mathsson. This particular chair is one of the earliest and most original versions, produced by Firma Karl Mathsson in 1944. It retains its original label, marked with Bruno Mathsson, Firma Karl Mathsson, Made in Värnamo, Sweden, and the inscription BM 44.

The design is distinguished by its sculptural, flowing lines, crafted from intricately bent beech plywood. The frame showcases elegant organic curves, a signature of Mathsson's work. The chair is covered in braided brown leather straps, made from the finest Tärnsjö leather, known for its exceptional quality and durability. The chair also features a removable head cushion in grey sheepskin, adding an extra layer of comfort.

This Pernilla 3 is in good, restored condition. The wooden frame has developed a beautiful, even and warm patina. The leather straps have been completely renewed. This piece has an attribution mark,
