Gorgeous Antique, Chinese pair of 7” plates or shallow bowls. We believe that these are ming dynasty and date within the period of that as well. Cobalt blue was used in the glaze of each of these creating a very pale light blue background with a navy pattern of design . Each bowl has imperfections that occurred during the hand making such as not being perfectly round or having bubbles in irregularities in the glaze. They have a wonderful old world charm and look and would be gorgeous on a wall displayed with a collection
7 inches in diameter
There are some staining present in each of the plates. each plate has some bits of clay that are under the glaze or on top of the glaze. There is also on one plate a sense that there is some dirt in the glaze itself and is present on the inside of the bowl. There is a bit of scuff to the rim that may have just a itty-bitty loss of glaze, it’s hard to tell if this is an imperfection when it was made or not, but we do want to note it. There are two old tags on the bottom of this each of them is covering a signature . Some imperfections present that occurred when they were made such as over glazing or uneven, glazing or uneven shape
