Frank Stella ( 1936 - 2024 ) is an American painter, sculptor and printmaker noted for his work in the areas of Minimalism and Post-Painterly Abstraction. Working since the 1950's, Stella has created a Modernist style Abstraction and singular creative voice that is unique unto himself. He is heralded for creating Abstract paintings that bear no pictorial illusions of psychological or metaphysical references in 20th Century Art. Artworks by Stella are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.

The " Paper Reliefs " Series is based on geometric structures that pays homage to the complex Soviet and Polish wooden synagogues from The 16th - 19th Century. The titles of the Paper Reliefs are names of cities, villages or districts where such synagogues were destroyed during The Holocaust. Kozangrodek is in an area historically located between Poland, White Russia now Belarus, and The Ukraine.

This series is not intended to be a memorial but rather a celebration of these beautiful, intricate structures and the skillful carpentry of the Jewish architects and craftsman. Although Stella was Catholic, he was continually inspired by the themes of history of The Jewish People exploring Post-Holocaust memory and measured Abstraction. Influenced by his artistic circle in New York being close to many Jewish friends, art critics, dealers and museum directors. It has been said that Stella absorbed from his surroundings " A kind of Jewish Soul ".

Tyler Graphics Ltd. founded by Kenneth E. Tyler is considered by many to be the most accomplished Contemporary master printer and publisher. Tyler is an arts educator and prominent figure in the American Post War revival of fine art limited edition printmaking. His technically advanced expertise and willingness to experiment on a bold scale drew many famous and influential artists to his workshops, among them David Hockney, Frank Stella, Helen Frankenthaler, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns.

Frank Stella and master printmaker Ken Tyler of Tyler Graphics Ltd., collaborated together to make these ground-breaking achievements of hand colored paper pulp reliefs.

The Mid Century Modernist offset lithograph print large format framed poster measures 26" W X 40" H X 1 1/2" D.

It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern satin eggshell finish gray stained white oak wood museum box style frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.

It is in excellent " like new " condition. The poster print is in excellent " like new " clean vintage condition consistent with age, very light signs of handling, and very light minor wear.
