A matching large (18 in) antique Japanese Imari charger and large (10 ¾ in) bowl with hand painted stylized floral decoration with surrounding rim with reserves of landscape scenes.
The charger has quick blue, red and green designs on the outside. The outside of the bowl has a large elaborate band of floral garland punctuated by red and green floral medallions.
Both pieces are signed on the bottom. The signature reads Heizen Arita Ware by Teizan.
Due to the rarity of finding a matching charger and bowl of such large size, we will only consider splitting up the set for a strong offer.
MEASUREMENTS
Charger - 18 in (45.7 cm) diameter x 2 3/8 in (5.9 cm) deep. Weighs 7 lbs 5 oz.
Bowl - 10 ¾ in (27.3 cm) diameter x 4 ½ in (11.4 cm) tall. Weighs 4 lbs 3 oz.
CONDITION
Both pieces have no chips, cracks or repairs. The enamels are in excellent condition. The only significant wear to the gilding is along the rims of the pieces. Both pieces have minor kiln flaws, such as pits and blackspots.
An exquisite, very large and impressive matching charger and bowl.
