The literal meaning of the word mafrash is sheet or table cloth and the root of the word signifies to spread, to cover, or to furnish.

Mafrash have been made in the largest numbers by Shahsevan tribal people and other groups in NW Iran and across the border in Azerbaijan. This red wool Mafrash Home Décor object, bench, coffee table was created from an antique cabel cargo bag, woven by Irianian Ghashgha’i nomads.
