In the wind of modernity that drives the 50s and 60s, potters and ceramists are not left out! They invent and reinvent the shapes of terracotta objects, playing with the composition of the enamels to obtain new colors or textures. The Lorraine earthenware of Saint Clément is linked to that of Lunéville. In Lunéville, fine earthenware is produced, often common and classic, services and patterned plates. Meanwhile, Saint Clément invents shapes and colors. In the second half of the 20th century, Jacques Roux and Blanche Lettale explored the stylistic possibilities of earthenware. In a spare and innovative style, the latter will offer vases with organic shapes, often with monochrome or two-tone enamels. This vase by Blanche Letalle is marked by the ArtDéco spirit. In a turquoise tone, it is decorated with embossed gold elements.
The vase is interesting but in average condition. A significant crack should be noted as well as friction on the gilding. The ceramic is stamped Blanche Letalle and Saint Clément in relief under its base.
7 to 10.5cm in diameter, 19.5cm in height.
