To own a piece of Finn Juhl’s legacy is to hold a fragment of mid-century modern history.
To own a pair of his rare 1950s SW96 Lounge Chairs, originally designed for Søren Willadsen, is nothing short of extraordinary.
These chairs are more than furniture—they are art, meticulously crafted by one of Denmark's most revered designers.
Their soft curves and sculptural teak frames are iconic, embodying the perfect marriage of form and function that defines Scandinavian modernism.
As a vintage artisan, I approached their restoration as both a privilege and a responsibility.
Decades of history were etched into their surfaces, whispers of past lives preserved in every line and patina. My goal was not to erase this history but to honor it, ensuring these chairs are ready to be cherished for generations to come.
One chair required carefully integrating aged teak to match the original grain during a couple repairs, all while preserving the beauty of its timeworn finish.
As part of the meticulous preservation process, any signs of age, including surface mold spots, were expertly neutralized to ensure the chairs are preserved without compromising their structural integrity or aesthetic appeal.
Now carefully restored and preserved, these chairs are a statement of refined taste, ready to grace the home of a discerning collector or elevate the vision of a high-end interior designer.
Whether placed in a sun-drenched modernist living room or a curated study, these Finn Juhl lounge chairs invite not only admiration but also an opportunity to sit, reflect, and become part of their story.
Today, I am honored to offer these chairs on behalf of their original owners.
There are no maker's marks on the chairs as is typical for this model and age.
