The dish is beautifully shaped in a form of six lettuce leaves with a dipper embodying a rounded leaf. The dipper leaf is gracing above the six leaves intended for the appetizers. Dish is depicted in a gorgeous light green color on the edges of the leaves and dark green color in the middle.
The dish is marked Hedi Schoop on the bottom.
Hedi Shoop was a dancer, sculptor, painter and mostly known as a ceramist. She and her husband immigrated from Germany in 1933 and settled in Hollywood, California. Hedi opened her pottery “Hedi Schoop Art Creations” in 1940 and successfully operated it until 1958, when fire destroyed the pottery. Her original creations earned a lot of followers and imitators. Today Hedi’s exquisite figurines and bowls are sought after collectables.
