A pair of mesmerizing 19th century Italian painted and giltwood console tables with trompe l'oeil faux marble tops over Louis XV style frames. Expertly painted, the surfaces capture the exuberant veining of book-matched onyx or marble, rendered in translucent gold to amber hues with ribbons of white, finished on the edge in a jade green. Below, the swelled apron of the table frame is ornately carved in typical acanthus leaves and fan motif, bathed in gold for a lovely contrast to the dark taupe paint. Elegant cabriole legs echo the serpentine profile for a complete look. Recently cleaned, tightened and restored, please view the detailed images. Sold as a pair.
