A pair of mesmerizing 19th century Italian painted and giltwood console tables with trompe l'oeil faux marble tops over Louis XVI style frames. Expertly painted, the trompe l’oeil surface captures the exuberant vein patterns of book-matched onyx or marble, rendered in translucent gold to amber hues with ribbons of white, finished on the edge in a jade green. Below, the swelled apron of the table frame is ornately carved in typical acanthus leaves and fan motif, bathed in gold for a lovely contrast to the dark taupe paint.
