We are pleased to offer this rare antique 18th century hand colored copperplate engraving of the heraldric crest of Sir Henry Noel and his family along with two engraved pages describing their family tree. The engravings are from Sir William Segar’s 6 volume authoritative genealogical work, Baronagium Genealogicum: or the Pedigrees of the English, published in London in 1764.
It is truly an astonishing work, with 6 title pages, 6 dedications, 298 coats-of-arms and 383 family trees (102 double-paged). It sells for as much as $38,000 in its entirety. An extensive family tree of varying length accompanies each heraldic crest. Each crest and family tree is of an unparalleled magnificence, large folio on superbly watermarked chain lined paper.
