Offered is a striking hand blown tall hooped vase in a bright hot orange art glass with white casing designed … Read more Offered is a striking hand blown tall hooped vase in a bright hot orange art glass with white casing designed by Michael Bang for Holmegaard. It is from the 1960s and an early precursor to his Carnaby Collection. While it is very much in the style of Swedish glass firm Alsterfors and specifically the works of Per Olaf Strom and his #S5000 model, this piece is over twice the size. Also reminiscent of Carlo Moretti's iconic cased glass objects. It has a transparent base, hot ground flat rim, and the full casing gives depth and saturation to the intense color.
Measures 16.375" tall, 7.25" diameter at base, 6.5" diameter at center hoop, 5.375" diameter at mouth, rim is .25" thick. See less
