They became a sanctioned way to mock someone and express other negative feelings. The postage was often left to be paid by the recipient. This “Coocoo” Vinegar Valentine has survived the test of time, and the recipient resisted the urge to tear it up or throw it in the fire. Very collectible!

This Vinegar Valentine is in good original condition. It shows wear consistent with age and use, including toning and a crease across the middle.
