Measuring 10 3/8 inches in diameter, with a gently scalloping rim, it presents in a deep dark black transfer of a rural scene that depicts cows lounging in the yard of a Tudor style home in the background. Around the rim, a grapevine, garland of leaves and flowers frame the scene.

Hallmark for Copeland is stamped into the back of the ceramic as well as the letter U and the number 83, and then the number seven is off to the side

This plate dates to the 1880s

This plate is in very nice condition, without any chips and without any cracks. There is a pocket mark near the rim of the plate that appears to have been from firing. There are some mild stains along the edge, and there are some imperfections in the way that the transfer was applied See less
