Retaining what appears to be their original surface, these chairs showcase a beautiful natural wear pattern developed over nearly two centuries of use. Each chair features four arrow-shaped spokes and a woven splint seat, both in excellent condition free of any damage. As is common with well-loved antique chairs, they have been slightly shortened over time, with one chair being marginally lower than the other. In our opinion this subtle difference does not detract from their appeal and adds to their character. The chairs have a few old age splits and the chair on the left has a small loss on the front of the crest but they are both structurally sound. Quality antique seating, especially early pairs of chairs, can be difficult to find in such well preserved & undisturbed condition. This pair, with its warm patina and classic country aesthetic, would make a wonderful addition to any primitive or farmhouse-style interior. The chair on the left measures 19” wide x 13 3/4” deep x 35” tall with a 15” seat height. The chair on the right measures 19” wide x 13 3/4” deep x 36” tall with a 15 1/2” seat height. See less
