This is an original 1894 antique French bicycle print that originally was the back cover of a French literary magazine of the time. It is original to the date and is NOT a recent reproduction print. Late 19th century bicycle prints and posters are highly collectible and most difficult to find with the passage of time. They were often susceptible to rips, tears, and discolortions. This image is in excellent antique condition! It was a publicity advertisement for the Michelin tire, known to be reliable, comfortable and efficient. And the advertisement for a bicycle with a Michelin tire is a shout-out that claims that the "whole world would like one!" The image features a young woman smiling under her umbrella as she ejoys her ride on her bicycle. The image has a quality of soft neutral grey color tones. The illustrated print is signed and dated by the illustrator in lower left. Measures 10.5 x 14.5 inches. Perfect for today's cycling enthusiast. It is a rare find! See less
