Incredibly beautiful and very rare vintage Japanese dyed fabric wallhanging 1963 calendar featuring gorgeous Kitagawa Utamaro geisha woodblock prints. Kitagawa Utamaro was a Japanese artist and one of the most highly regarded designers of ukiyo-e woodblock prints and paintings. The fabric is light and somewhat translucent and you can see the artwork from the other side of the fabric just slightly coming through when looking up close at it. There are four fabric panels, one is the cover with a muted pink color and the other three depicts three different geishas. Each of the three geisha panels contains 4 months. This vintage handmade calendar will make a wonderful wall decor object for any stylish home. It would be very difficult to find another of one of these!
Overall height including the hanging string when hung on the wall is 43.5", height excluding the hanging string is 36.5".
