Their design and craftsmanship make them unusual pieces that have survived to this day, making them especially valuable for their uniqueness and artistic quality.

Made of salt-glazed stoneware, the cups feature decorative reliefs in the shape of a fleur-de-lis, a classic motif that adds elegance to their design and which Guérin also used in vases from the same period. The earthy tones and unique textures of the glazing reflect the technical mastery of the artist, who perfected this technique in his workshop in Bouffioulx, Belgium.

Both pieces are in very good condition, with the glazing and reliefs well-preserved. One of the cups has a slight internal mark, visible only upon close inspection of the interior, which does not affect its stability or visual appeal.

Produced in the 1920s, these cups are an exceptional testament to Guérin's versatility, as he is best known for his vases and larger decorative pieces. He participated in international events such as the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris, cementing his reputation as one of the most prominent ceramists of his era.
