A very beautiful antique Indian vessel
An ewer made of thick tooled copper, all hand crafted and chiseled in Kashmir, following a centuries old tradition of highest level in metalworking
Raised on circular food body with long spout and domed lid, ending with a brass finial
Amazing deeply embossed floral decoration
The attached brass handle is shaped as a snake or dragon
Circa second half of the 19th Century, Kashmir, India
Measurements: Approx. 10.25" tall with the lid x 7.25" spout to handle x 5" widest diameter (across)
Weighs about 2 lbs. 6 oz.
Condition: Very Good overall. Please see photos. The lid is held by a thick copper wire loop, possibly the original fastener has been lost.
