This 7x8 vintage Dhurrie rug is an exciting new curation from Rug & Kilim’s latest acquisition of rare and exemplary mid-century flatweaves of the same style. Handwoven in cotton, it originates from India circa 1950-1960.
On the Design:
This vintage kilim features a soothing sky-blue field underscoring a play of geometric patterns in cream and beige hues in the border and field alike. The positive-negative warm-and-cool element is a playful complement to an otherwise simple, livable design. It’s a work of warm, welcoming presence and smart balance alike, with vast design applications today.
