Pablo Picasso ( 1881 - 1973 ) was a Spanish born painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, poet and playwright who spent most of his life in France. He is regarded as one of the most important and influential artists of The Twentieth Century. Exceptionally prolific throughout the course of his long life, Picasso achieved universal renown and immense fortune for his revolutionary artistic accomplishments, and became one of the most well known figures in 20th Century Art.

Born in Dublin Ireland, Edward Quinn ( 1920 - 1997 ) met Pablo Picasso in 1951. The meeting was crucial for both. Quinn has written two essential books on Picasso, as well as other well known artists, and directed six films including several about Picasso.

" The most everyday objet is a vessel ; a vehicle of my thoughts ". In Picasso's hands, cardboard, paper, and rope metamorphose into a guitar, goat, a woman. His friend the great photographer Edward Quinn, a privileged witness to Picasso's creative moments, displays them here in 80 pages of the artist's everyday objects created in an imaginary world.
