Pair of vintage 1930s folk art andirons handmade from discarded wrought iron railroad components. The vertical posts are cylindrical with domed caps, fashioned from railroad pins or similar hardware, and the horizontal supports are made from old railroad rails. The scroll handles were forged from old railroad tie plates or brackets, reworked by a skilled blacksmith into flowing, decorative forms, which create a nice contrast to the rugged industrial construction.
