This Japanese Kacho-e (birds and flowers) genre colored woodblock by Shin-Hanga artist Ono Shigeyuki features a skylark on a bamboo branch with orange fruits suspended around him in an autumnal scene. The Shin-Hanga art movement was a 20th century movement that revisited traditional compositions and techniques. This piece probably dates to the 1950s.
This colored woodblock is in very good original condition with wear consistent with age and use. The frame is in very good shape, as well.
