A striking pair of hand-colored antique botanical engravings from Abraham Munting's "Accurate Description of the Earth’s Crops," featuring oversized florals gracefully set against scenic landscapes. Beautifully matted and framed, each includes a certificate of authenticity on the reverse.
Abraham Munting (1626–1683) was a Dutch botanist and artist, and Professor of Botany and Chemistry at the University of Groningen, the Dutch Republic.
Each engraving is inscribed with the plant's name in Latin:
Sedum Maius Arborescens Radicabile (Fig. 129, Fol. 468)
Rubus Non Spinosus Major Odoratus (Fol. 247)
