Beautiful vintage Murano hand blown Sommerso opalescent pink and white with bubbles Italian art glass pig figurine / sculpture. The piece is documented to the Fratelli Toso company. The little piglet has been created in the "Bullicante" or control bubble technique, where bubbles are infused within the glass layers, creating a unique pattern. The piece is filled with gold leaf, that clings to each of the bubbles. The opal glass fades from a light pink on the face, to white towards the back of the figure, in the "Ombre" style. It has a pulled snout, with clear little ears and legs. For accuracy, this figurine might have had a tail, but i am not sure. The back side of the pig seems polished smooth. Please see all photos. Would make a great display piece on any desk, vanity or coffee table. Mid-century era. Measurements: 4 7/8" long x 2" wide x 2 1/2" high.
