Flat middle desk, with inlaid decoration of cubes in rosewood veneer frames, opening with three belt drawers on one side and simulated drawers on the other, resting on four arched legs.
decorated with a rich decoration of gilded bronzes such as: ingot mold with clasps with men's heads, mobile gadrooned handles, acanthus leaves, side mascarons, falls with fauns' heads, clawed hooves\.
top covered in iron-gilded brown leather.
signed "linke" on the ingot mold, the backs of the handles marked "lf", the insides of the locks "ct linke paris".
this model is similar to the one used by françois linke in his personal office (see photo from the book "paris, the quintessence of furniture in the 19th century" by christopher payne).
exceptional quality, very good original condition.
