Exquitsely framed pair of 1900's hand colored lithographs of parrot species.
Festive Amazon Parrot, a fine example displaying various shades of green feathers with a red line across beak. Bird is sitting on branch. The second parrot species is Illiger's Macaw again, displayed on branch, this parrot is much more colorful, with variety of long tail feathers in shades of blues, greens, yellow and red feathers, similar colored feathers on wings, with a black and red face.

Dated 1900-1910
During the 18th and 19th Centuries, governments, or philanthropists would sponsor artists to adventure on natural history missions, to seek out rare and exotic animals and fauna. Lithographs and portfolios were produced at the time.

Frame 18" high x 15" wide
Displayed in triple acid free matting with a French Mat top layer, in a gold and fabric frame under uv glass.
