It originally appeared in a Fench magazine of the time and is NOT a recent reproduction print. The design is named "New York". It showcases a shirt-waisted style dress with a cinched waistline and full bellowing skirt. These are classic mid-century styling details. Note the abundance of buttons on the sleeves and on the center button closures. It is worn over a black under-sheath and finished with a coordinating scarf styled hat and black gloves. The image was illustrated by Rene Gruau who worked with Dior designs throughout the mid-century years. The stong graphic lines and vivid color are iconic Gruau.
