Above his head, a column ends with flower buds and open leaves (where the bowl containing the perfume was originally placed) and a bearded man, why not Velch, the god of Fire?

We find several Etruscan Thymaterion (6th/5th century BC) in the collections of museums, such as the Met or the Louvre Museum.
This 19th century object is a successful example of the “Grand Tour” objects: from the end of the 17th century, young men from good families set off on this initiatory journey, initially to Italy and Greece, to the discovery of the founding cultural and artistic origins of our civilization.
from these trips, they brought back “souvenirs”, objects made inspired by Greece or ancient Italy.
