This is one of a group of recent acquisitions we recently received from Paris. It is a matted botanical chromolithograph that dates to 1900. It features floral decorative designs of native European and North African plants that were to be used for textiles, wall panels, leatherworks, ceramics, jewelry inspirations, etc. It showcases classic Art Nouveau elements in decorative motifs with intricate detailing. Three flower planels are featured and noted: delphinium, acanthus ( bear's breeches) and tropaeolum (nasturtium). Also note the artist’s signature initials in far left and center lower borders. The chromolithograph is in pristine antique condition with wonderful variations of strong variated green, bronze/gold and coral tones. The images make a dynamic statement for wall decor for both traditional and contemporary home styles. The image is in rare horizontal format measuring 12.75 x 10 inches in size. Chromolithograph comes matted in a neutral tone 16 x 20 inch custom mat ready for standard size frame. This is a very rare antique find! Such images are very hard to find these days!
