This small village on the channel sea cultivates a long tradition of making hand made copper wares. This piece from the now closed "Lecellier house" most probably dates from the early 1980's. I found this delicately crafted piece in a flea market near the city of Guinguamp France. Noticeably larger and simpler than some similar productions of the same time period. The body is all spun and shows no hammer marks. A great piece of Normandy vernacular craft work. In relatively good condition after a good polish this massive copper vase only desires to oxidize if left unattended. Let time and the elements do its magic See less
