The case sits atop a plinth base, with four drawers on each side and three larger drawers in the center, concealed by a pair of hinged doors. The aluminum pulls and the bezels around each section provide a timelessly modern contrast with the exotic grain patterns of the figured cherry surfaces.

At 78.25 inches in width, it is half a foot wider than typical full-size dressers. It is both a statement piece and a perfect embodiment of quiet confidence. The varied size of the side and central drawers allows it to function equally well in the living room as a credenza or media console, with ample space for both larger and smaller items.

The process of refinishing the piece revived its original color, bringing it back to warm-feeling brick red. The John Stuart placard was lost at some point over the last five decades. The imprint of where it was affixed in the top right drawer remains. See less
