Dimensions: 35-1/4” H x 21-1/4” W x 21-1/4” D
A stunning 6-light Byzantine/Gothic-style bronze chandelier from France, 19th century if not earlier. The dramatic fixture has a multifoil shaped ring from which the six lights rise decorated with stylized acanthus, scrolling, and chevron motifs. The base is harnessed together by brass rods, connecting to a brass sphere midway to the ceiling canopy, joined together at points punctuated by small brass orbs. Originally made to burn candles in a church, the chandelier has recently been cleaned, electrified and professionally rewired for US use, using UL-listed components.
