Offered is a 2008 artisan-signed wood turned and lathed Sabicu wood decorative bowl made by Bill Jones.
Sabicu (Lysiloma) , also known as Cuban Mahogany, is a large weeping evergreen tree native to the Caribbean islands of The Bahamas, Cuba, Jamaica, etc. and its hard wood is typically used for making furniture, yet it is a wood that also fades quickly in sunlight and ages to a yellow-brown, such as this polished bowl.
It measures 8.25" in diameter, 2" in height.
