A handsome crested Baroque style mirror, with a raised center section and with a beveled mirrored surround, all bounded by … Read more A handsome crested Baroque style mirror, with a raised center section and with a beveled mirrored surround, all bounded by Flemish ebonized ripple carved wood mouldings and bright gilt brass floral repoussé bands. Four matching corner mounts complement the larger scale floral motifs of the pedimented crest. Good antique condition with surface irregularities (some minor denting in places) small restorations. Original mercury glass center mirror plate with some dark speckling and the desirable starry effect typical thereof. Border mirror plates probably also original, but not mercury glass, also with signs of age: hazy zones, speckling and desilvering. Late 19th century.
