Most likely originating in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, richly cast using the renowned ancient bronze lost wax process, throne inspired form, having a serrated lotus leaf shaped backplate decorated with central seated Gajalakshmi (Lakshmi) figure in relief, a prominent Hindu deity of wealth, prosperity, and fertility, depicted flanked by elephants to either side, over a shallow oil reservoir basin with pinched rim on stepped base with running ornamentation, enhanced by beautifully aged heavily worn verdigris bluish green patina!
