Vintage Turkoman Tribal filagree bracelet made of an alpaka alloy of zinc iron accented with an oval amber cabochon. The interior has an etched dragon motiff.
"Turkoman" (also spelled Turcoman) refers to a Turkic ethnic group, primarily inhabiting Central Asia, particularly in Turkmenistan and parts of Iran and Afghanistan. Historically, they were a nomadic people, but now primarily live in Turkmenistan and northeast Iran. The name "Turkoman" itself comes from the Persian word "turkmān," meaning "resembling a Turk".
Interior of the cuff measures 6 " with an additional 1 1/4 " gap for a total circumference of 7 1/4 ". The metal is relatively malleable, thus this cuff is slightly adjustable.
Width measures 2.75" straight across the widest part (from wrist bone to wrist bone).
Bracelet face measures .95" tall (the face of the bracelet, north to south).
Bracelet depth from top to the underside of wrist is 2.34".
