Signed Schneider France art glass vase in a beautiful, mottled blend of amethyst and blue green, exemplifying the exceptional craftsmanship and bold proportions characteristic of Charles Schneider's Art Deco period pieces. We have seen similar Schneider patterns described as Jade. It makes an ideal gift for any Art Deco glass collector.
The vase is clearly marked on the base rim with "SCHNEIDER," the signature of Charles Schneider, a renowned glass artist originally based in Nancy. After working at Daum, Schneider founded his own glassmaking factory in 1913 in the northern suburbs of Paris, alongside his brother Ernest. Today, Schneider glass is part of permanent collections at prestigious museums worldwide, including the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and the Kunstmuseum in Düsseldorf, Germany.
