For sale is a vintage Heintz Art Metal Shop Letter Holder with Perpetual Calendar and Letter Opener. The Heintz Art Metal Shop was in Buffalo, New York and made a wide variety of objects including this Letter Holder and Opener which is sterling over bronze. The company patented the process for its method of applying sterling silver to bronze without solder. The Letter Holder is stamped with the initials H.A.M.S. within a diamond and indicated Sterling on Bronze and Pat.Aug.27.12 which references Heintz's 1912 patent for attaching the overlay.
Portions of the sterling show wear, the bottom of the ball feet are worn, the Letter Opener shows heavy wear. The Perpetual Calendar is intact with the original cards. Condition is consistent with age and use. Letter Opener is 10"H x 1"W x .25"D. Letter Holder with calendar and tray is 3.75"H x 6.25"W x 4"D. Ball feet. The set includes 9 pieces consisting of 7 pieces with Perpetual Calendar, Letter Holder with Tray, and Letter Opener.
