This mahogany desk, dating from the Directoire period of the early 19th century, is a piece of furniture of remarkable elegance and functionality.
It opens with three drawers, including a large central drawer, two side drawers and a side drawer which simulates two fronts, adding a touch of sophistication and trompe l'oeil to the whole.
Each of them is equipped with authentic locks with bronze entrances, testifying to the attention to detail and the quality of the materials used at the time.
These bronze elements not only add an aesthetic dimension, but also additional security for the precious objects that could be stored there.
Two side shelves expand the useful surface area of this desk, providing additional flexibility for daily tasks.
The top of the desk is covered in later pine green leather, decorated with corner and central motifs, cold and gold vignettes, adding a touch of luxury and refinement.
The whole thing rests on Directoire bronze shoes, giving the desk additional stability and elegance.
This desk is not only an example of early 19th century craftsmanship excellence, but also a practical and decorative piece that can enrich any interior with its historic charm and timeless design.
A real treasure for lovers of period furniture and refined design.
