Elegant Japanese terracotta hibachi from the Meiji period
Dimensions: height 17 cm, diameter 28 cm.
This type of hibachi was traditionally used as a heat source with a kotatsu in Japan. The fire pot was placed under a wooden frame (kotatsu), allowing the warmth to spread evenly beneath a thick blanket (futon), providing comfort to those seated around the table.
The hibachi consists of two parts: a main section and a smaller inner pot where ash and glowing coals were placed.
The four round openings on the sides ensure optimal air circulation.
Today, this beautiful hibachi serves as a charming addition to your interior or garden, for example, as a candle holder or decorative piece.
A unique and authentic Japanese accent for any stylish setting.
