Delightful, artisan made wooden vessels featuring intricate hand-tooled decoration. The olive jar shaped bowls are perched delicately on bobbin-like, tri-pod legs and crowned with a wooden lid. The wood surface is adorned with an incised and painted profile of a woman wearing the traditional Breton lace headdress surrounded by wave-like flourishes recalling Brittany's seaside. The artist's signature can be seen on the right side of the image but is illegible to us.
Very good vintage condition with no cracks, no chips. There is an area of discoloration presumably caused by an opaque sticker which delayed the natural yellowing of the varnish finish on the rest of the jar. We do not feel that this distracts from the loveliness of the pieces.
Free local pickup; otherwise shipped via economical parcel delivery.
